Principal Responsibilities
The Systems Manufacturing Technician plays a critical role in the mechanical and electrical assembly of Fire and Gas Control Panels. This position requires a detail-oriented and results-driven professional capable of performing assigned production duties while adapting to shifting work priorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Purchasing.
In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and wiring control panels, setting up and operating test equipment, troubleshooting panels, and maintaining key production metrics. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency is essential. Additionally, the technician should have a proactive, teamwork-oriented mindset and be willing to support continuous improvement initiatives alongside the supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Perform mechanical fabrication of metal panels using drill presses, saws, and various power tools.
- Wire control panels utilizing a broad range of wire gauges, ensuring a clean, professional, and high-quality finish.
- Set up and operate test equipment to validate functionality and troubleshoot panels as necessary.
- Accurately interpret and work from mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Package, organize, and deliver assembled goods to the warehouse within designated timelines.
- Maintain and update key performance metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, and inventory.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while coordinating with multiple Project Engineers.
- Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and operational procedures at all times.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Assist in process improvements and support operational efficiency initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the military or an electro-mechanical industry.
- At least 2 years of experience using and handling handheld power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and symbols.
- Capable of lifting and handling materials up to 30 lbs.
