What You Bring To SBHG (Qualifications)

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Associate of Arts Degree or technical/vocational school diploma preferred
  • Clerical experience and strong computer skills
  • Experience in an inpatient or outpatient medical setting preferred

How You Will Make a Difference (Job Overview)

Provides support to the Finance Department by ensuring accurate and prompt client entry and tracking in the electronic medical record (EMR). Work is performed under general supervision but functions independently. Various computerized and non-computerized reports are prepared regularly. Accuracy and timeliness are essential as they may affect legal and economic liability to the program. Will have regular interaction with all staff members, physicians, outside agencies and the public.

Division/Program Overview

This role involves coordinating activities with the Business Services Manager, preparing monthly computerized statistical data reports, and assigning benefit assignments for Community Services and Teammates Mental Health clients during intake. It includes checking Medi-Cal eligibility monthly, managing client movements within the EMR, and handling admissions and discharges for Community Services and Teammates Mental Health clients as necessary. The position requires updating the Client Status Report for referral tracking, clearing pending referrals and episodes, and updating the LA County Integrated System (IS) and the EMR with client changes. Additionally, the role processes requests related to Transfer of Coordinator (TOC)/UMDAP dates, stays informed about changes in billing/TOC/episodes/forms on the IS website, and assists with EMR issues as needed. The employee also supports Directors, Supervisors, Intake Coordinator, and MHS with EMR client management issues and scans all required admission paperwork into the EMR.
