About the Role
The Research and Development department is responsible for creating complete programs to meet mandated safety and regulatory compliance requirements. The Course Editor/Developer will be primarily responsible for editing online content provided by Subject Matter Experts – all related to employee and student health and safety, employee professional development, and student behavior, thereby creating web-based training delivery and management solutions that support K-12 educators and college administrators.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit training materials and resources in a clear, concise, practical manner suitable for a defined audience.
- Effectively present information with attention to detail and focus on quality.
- Use and enforce editorial standards regarding grammar, syntax and style.
- Apply best practices and standards to edit content provided by Subject Matter Experts and other course writers.
- Develop hands-on exercises, scenarios and assessments.
- Evaluate and confirm learning objectives and course content through ongoing needs assessment/research.
- Conduct quality review of all educational content ensuring that all information is accurate, consistent, easy to understand, flows well and is well organized.
- Maintain organized documentation and files of used and unused content materials.
- Collaborate with members of the R&D team including the research team and course designers, as well as other departments, as needed.
- Adhere to development standards and established procedures.
- Other duties as required and/or requested by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2-4 years of proven experience.
- Quick learner, self-motivator, and detail oriented.
- Confident decision maker.
- Works well under pressure.
- Driven to find solutions.
- Strong inductive reasoning skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Project management and multitasking skills and proven success in working on simultaneous projects at different stages of development.
- Strong problem identification and solving skills.
- Highly proficient in personal productivity software/MS Office products.
- Adapts quickly to frequent changes and revisions.
