Maintenance Technician
Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and calibrating machinery and equipment to ensure seamless operation. This includes troubleshooting, ordering parts, fabricating components, and installing or adjusting equipment as needed.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Possess a thorough working knowledge of all machinery and equipment.
- Communicate the status of non-operational equipment to the immediate supervisor, prioritizing tasks and coordinating work schedules effectively.
- Maintain OSHA-compliant maintenance records for all machinery and equipment.
- Monitor and manage inventory for perishable parts and essential supplies.
- Ensure availability of proper tools for immediate repair of minor equipment breakdowns.
- Collaborate with supervision to evaluate and address major repair needs.
- Follow instructions accurately with minimal supervision.
- Proactively identify and implement cost-saving measures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist in acquiring or renting additional equipment as required.
- Continuously enhance technical skills and knowledge through ongoing training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Exhibit consistent and dependable attendance, as it is a critical requirement of this role.
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of a machine repair apprentice program or relevant equivalent experience.
- Proficient in electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electronics, carpentry, and masonry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in fabricating metal structures.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Proficiency in using various hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Adaptable and capable of improvising to address challenges effectively.
- Physical capability to perform tasks involving lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, climbing, and working at heights.
