Job Description
This position is responsible for the creative expression of the UVA Health brand across all channels and platforms, with deep expertise and skill in creative/conceptual development and digital/multimedia design. This position will lead the in-house multi-media design/photography team and will closely collaborate with internal stakeholders such as the Content/Editorial, Social, Digital and Video teams to seamlessly bring the UVA Health brand to life.
- Sets, develops and executes the creative brand strategy for UVA Health.
- Develops creative strategies that support brand positioning, messaging and creative goals for the UVA Health brand, entity sub-brands, service lines and initiatives.
- Provides breakthrough creative concepting and thinking, maintaining a highly creative aesthetic and advanced knowledge of marketing, advertising and branding solutions that deliver best in-class creative outcomes.
- Diligently evolves, interprets, articulates, and expresses the UVA Health brand over a variety of media, including digital, social, print, photography, video and other media.
- Drives brand and creative consistency across all health system entities, including UVA Community Health, UVA Physicians Group, and academic entities as necessary and appropriate.
- Understands diverse target audiences, channel/format user behaviors and best practices and develops creative solutions designed to maximize engagement, conversion and outcomes.
- Experiments with and adopts new technologies, such as AI design and content creation.
- In collaboration with Marketing leadership and Analytics, oversees measurement of creative and brand initiatives, with a focus on ROI measurement and achieving desired outcomes.
- Leads, mentors and inspires a team of multi-media designers and photographer, providing creative guidance and direction in a high-volume environment.
- Drives creative collaboration across OSMC’s disciplines, including Marketing, Content, Digital, Social, Video and Internal/Executive Communications.
- Supports and extends brand architecture needs and guidance in response to changing organizational and/or market dynamics.
- Reinforces and manages adherence of design and brand standards across the health system.
- Drives implementation of Brand Management System across the system to facilitate greater automation and self-service for simpler design requests.
- Spearheads competitive analyses to stay current with peer/market trends.
- Interacts regularly with OSMC leadership and interfaces with client stakeholders across the organization.
- Fosters a high performing team environment through recruiting, hiring, and managing highest caliber design and creative professionals.
- Creates and maintains efficient and productive processes; supervises production for various types of creative deliverables and initiatives; produces against multiple deadlines and initiatives.
Position Compensation Range: $122,886.40 – $196,622.40 Annual
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Communications, Design or related field required.
Experience: 10 years of creative leadership experience in agency or corporate environment required; agency experience preferred.
Licensure: None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
