Position Description
The Procurement Specialist will provide project transportation and tracking support for major energy storage projects throughout the United States and the World. You will be assigned project teams to work with during all stages of the project to ensure that their supply needs are met in a timely manner. Day-to-day communications with internal team members (virtually) and suppliers are needed to usher the requests for purchase through various phases necessary to successfully deliver a product to the project site. This is a fast-paced and ever-changing environment that will demand the ability for the candidate to manage several projects in their various lifecycles at any given time.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Meet weekly/daily with project teams (PM and Engineer) to review project procurement and logistics needs
- Manage the supplier relationship by communicating clear and concise messaging about the project’s current, but evolving needs
- Project lead-time management:

- Understand the lead-times of each unit that was purchased for the project
- Apply that time to the evolving project schedule
- Request adjustments to supplier production schedule to create the best fit for the project
- Over-communicate to the supplier to ensure on-time shipment schedule
- Relay updates schedule updates to PM so they are enabled to make informed decisions
- Manage project logistics board with all pertinent information to keep all internal FlexGen project members updated with latest statuses
- Track purchased materials to site via tracking number supplied by vendor, e-mail and by phone. Strong communications skills required
- Lean on project team to make decisions in a timely manner on equipment delivery in order to stay within the project required timeline
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Industrial Distribution, Project Management or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of five years of related experience
- Leadership and teamwork skills to negotiate and influence project issues
- Experience working with small teams effectively
- Experience working in software systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Power BI, Excel
