We are building a world-class Lithium-Ion Battery business organization, poised to shape the future of clean energy. As we rapidly scale up, we seek an accomplished Team Lead (DGM) – Civil Contracts who will spearhead and oversee the contractual aspects of projects, manage contracts, and optimize the Contract award process to ensure cost-effective and timely project delivery with respect to all Civil Infrastructure activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing commercial and contract strategies aligned with the company’s overall objectives, considering market conditions, project requirements, and financial goals.
  • Overseeing the negotiation, review, and execution of contracts with subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and selecting contractors, and subcontractors who can provide goods and services necessary for project execution.
  • Collaborating with project teams to estimate project costs accurately and develop budgets. Monitoring project expenditures and implementing cost control measures to optimize project profitability.
  • Identifying potential risks and developing risk mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on projects. Assessing contractual risks, insurance requirements, and legal implications related to contract and commercial activities.
  • Negotiating with suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and pricing. Ensuring that contract award processes are fair, transparent, and in line with legal and ethical standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Implementing robust governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to maintain transparency, integrity, and ethical conduct in commercial and contract award activities.
  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring commercial and contract performance against targets. Providing regular reports to senior management regarding project status, cost analysis, financial metrics, and commercial risks.

Qualification

Desired Qualification & Experience:

  • B.Tech/BE in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • An MBA or equivalent advanced degree would be an added advantage. (NICMAR preferred)

Skills & Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in EPC companies would be preferred
  • Experience specifically in design and design-build projects is highly desirable, as it demonstrates a strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of these types of projects.
  • Experience in managing contract award activities, including sourcing, contracting, vendor management, and negotiation, is crucial.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing commercial strategies and managing commercial aspects of projects is important.
