Our Capital Markets Advisory Group structures and executes customized financing solutions and advises clients on all aspects of public and private debt and equity transactions. Financing solutions for our clients address a broad range of uses, including buyouts, growth capital, platform formation, refinancings, restructurings, recapitalizations, and project financing. In IPOs, we provide guidance on preparation, advice on key decisions and manage the syndicate banks. Our independence and objectivity, coupled with our direct and long-standing institutional buy-side relationships, inform our market views and strengthen the quality of our execution, leading to successful transactions for our clients. Debt products include ABL, term loans, DIP/exit financing, investment grade, high yield, mezzanine and unitranche. Equity products include structured equity, platform company financing, private investments in public equity (PIPEs), corporate and portfolio recapitalizations, IPO advisory and public company and Board of Directors advisory. The Group engages in direct dialogue with a wide range of institutional investors, including private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, alternative asset managers, bank and non-bank lenders, sovereign and pension funds and family offices.

Moelis’s Associates are expected to assume significant levels of responsibility requiring intellectual curiosity, leadership and analytical aptitude. The day-to-day responsibilities of an Associate include: financial analysis and modeling, managing a team, preparing client presentations and interacting with senior bankers and clients. A sophisticated level of interpersonal skill is required.

Ideal candidates must also possess:

  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and financial concepts; ability to analyze and value businesses
  • Experience in Investment Banking (corporate finance/M&A) or equivalent
  • A drive for results, and ability to perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
  • Team player mentality, and ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of internal groups and clients
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office suite (Excel a must) and financial reporting skills
  • Undergraduate degree; focus in finance, business, accounting, economics, mathematics is preferred

Expected Salary Range: $175,000 – $225,000
