Business Development Representative

Job Description

THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE BASED IN THE UNITED STATES.

At Civitas Learning, we believe in building true partnerships and working hand-in-hand with higher education institutions that are deeply committed to improving student success. Our Business Development Representatives share pipeline development responsibilities by initiating conversations with decision-makers, developing a baseline understanding of challenges encountered by leadership at institutions, and creating excitement around the vision of using cutting-edge data science to enhance decision making and improve workflow.

What You Will Do As a Business Development Representative

  • This is a strategic Business Development role designed to help generate a pipeline. Team members work with significant autonomy on identifying, progressing, and delivering high-value opportunities with C-suite Higher Ed professionals for Regional Vice Presidents to execute to close.
  • Source new sales opportunities within an assigned set of accounts in close collaboration with Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) – while you will be guided through this process, we encourage you to be creative and iterate on your experience and past wins to strengthen our outreach strategy.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales leadership to identify “themes” of challenges in the market, as well as generate and promote key messages that resonate with our targeted audience.
  • Work with prospective institutions to articulate challenges that they may or may not be aware of through excellent consultation, articulating a vision while positioning Civitas Learning distinctly and inspiring them to act.
  • Receive expert sales coaching on opportunities and overall pipeline strategy as part of your weekly routine.

What we’re looking for in a Business Development Representative:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Desire to start (or advance) a career in sales
  • Highly motivated and driven individual who thrives working towards monthly and quarterly quotas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication (must be fluent in English)
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to flourish amidst uncertainty

What You Are Looking For In Your Career

  • A culture of care where we emphasize team collaboration and where your input is valued.
  • Fulfillment with a company that is on a mission to help solve critical challenges within Higher Education.
  • An opportunity to grow your sales skills within a culture where leadership desires to help you be successful.
  • You’re ready for a challenge that can produce fulfillment in the work you do each day.
