In order for the global energy system to make the transition from a carbon-based grid, to a renewable energy grid, large scale energy storage must be introduced into the electricity system to balance intra-hour supply and demand.? Energy storage is the enabler of high penetration variable renewable generation like solar and wind.
The Analyst on the Strategic Analytics team will work under the guidance of the Director, Business Operations & Strategic Analytics. The Analyst will play a critical role in supporting data management, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. This position will assist in streamlining the company’s data assets, developing analytics tools that enable a best-in-class development process, and creating streamlined financial reports and operational performance insights.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and analytics tools that streamline workflows and enable visibility into the organization’s data assets and finances.
- Support efforts to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency by working with internal teams to align on data management and quality control best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Accounting, Development, Legal, EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), Commercial, Asset Operations and Performance, Data Science and Software Engineering, and IT teams to gather requirements and support data-driven decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows, reduce manual reporting efforts, and enhance operational efficiency using modern data tools.
- Assist in developing, tracking, and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) to support project tracking and strategic decision-making.
- Help develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to strategic analytics, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum BA/BS in economics, finance, data science, business, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data-focused role.
- Ability to synthesize and present complex data in a clear and actionable manner.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver timely, high-quality results.
- Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Power Query, SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools.
- Basic experience with Microsoft Power Apps or other low-code programming tools is a plus.
- Basic experience with Microsoft Fabric or other end-to-end data management platforms is a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft suite of tools and applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
Compensation, Location, and Benefits
Highly competitive total compensation from one of North America’s leading energy storage developers, owners and operators. Flexible, work from home or hybrid work from Plus Power’s offices in San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, and Palm Beach.
The expected salary range* for this position begins at $80,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program.
