Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team in the Genset industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel and gas generator sets. This role requires frequent travel to customer sites and the ability to work independently while ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation & Commissioning: Install and commission generator sets, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on gensets and associated electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to engines, alternators, control panels, and fuel systems.
  • Testing & Inspections: Perform load tests, performance checks, and inspections to ensure optimal operation.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical assistance and training to clients on genset operations and best practices.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed service reports, logs, and documentation of all field activities.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to company safety protocols and industry standards during field operations.
  • Spare Parts Management: Recommend and coordinate the procurement of spare parts for repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in genset servicing, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting diesel and gas engines.
  • Strong knowledge of generator control panels, PLCs, and electrical circuits.
  • Familiarity with tools and diagnostic equipment used in genset servicing.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites.
  • Valid driving license (preferred).
