Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to collaborate closely with the management team in the development, design, management, and execution of impactful projects related to facility and production processes. This role entails providing essential engineering support for plant modifications, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and training on equipment and procedures as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and oversee the layout, site development, and installation of manufacturing equipment and facilities.
- Manage project costs in alignment with the budget while executing project management duties that include conceptual solution generation and project cost justification.
- Work in partnership with managers to ensure the optimal operation of equipment, while identifying and implementing process improvements and preventative maintenance measures.
- Conduct capability studies for processes or equipment and propose actionable improvements for management approval.
- Identify technical challenges and devise practical solutions suited to the project’s scale and complexity.
- Support troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation and controls, while contributing to project development efforts.
- Provide engineering solutions to management to ensure comprehensive process capability, while suggesting avenues for continuous and capital improvements.
- Effectively communicate project specifics, financial details, recommendations, and concerns to the management team.
- Availability to support production during operational hours, as the plant operates continuously.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an engineer within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Experience within the metals industry is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects successfully.
- Strong project management experience in an industrial environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, team-building, and communication abilities at all organizational levels.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks Professional and AutoCAD is beneficial.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline is required.
- A proven track record of managing multiple projects efficiently is essential.
