We are a distinguished and family-owned railroad construction firm seeking a skilled Lead Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This role will necessitate significant travel, approximately 80%-90%, to various job sites, offering an exciting opportunity to work with advanced railroad construction equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute maintenance and repairs on railroad construction machinery.
- Travel frequently to diverse job locations as needed.
- Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve project objectives effectively.
Required Skills
- Extensive knowledge of railroad construction equipment including:
- Jackson tampers with Jupiter
- Kershaw regulators
- Knox Kershaw tie cranes
- Nordco spikers
- Nordco spike pullers
- Racine anchor adjusters
- Nordco tripp machines
- Nordco auto lifts
- John Deere tie cranes
- Harsco tampers
- Strong mechanical aptitude paired with problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a railroad mechanic or in a similar capacity.
- Familiarity with the specified equipment is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in mechanics or related fields is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in railroad mechanics or heavy equipment maintenance.
