Job Description

Instrumental technology is used by the world’s most admired electronics brands like Bose, Cisco, and SolarEdge to significantly reduce the 20 cents of waste in every dollar spent on manufacturing. Our technology leverages AI from data coming from the manufacturing floor to automate failure identification and resolution – improving yield, quality, and time to market.

AI will transform manufacturing — and Instrumental’s technology is already redefining how the world’s electronics are built. Delivering breakthrough technology requires not just great technology, it demands an exceptional financial and operational backbone.

We’re looking for a seasoned accountant who combines technical mastery with exceptional judgment—someone who can maintain precise financial records and evaluate business risks and opportunities. In this role you’ll own our core accounting function, using your technical competency, analytical skills, and business acumen to execute our financial and compliance priorities. If you’re eager to help shape the financial foundation of a fast-growing AI company, we’d love to hear from you.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver full-cycle accounting operations, including Payroll, AR, AP, Inventory, financial statements, month-end and year-end close processes
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Maintain internal controls and compliance procedures
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support financial and operational needs as needed
  • Lead special projects to improve operational effectiveness, including evaluating and implementing new tools and technologies

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has

  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience, CPA preferred
  • 2+ years of experience working at a SaaS high-growth business
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to act and operate independently; natural curiosity to take on new challenges and responsibility
  • Balances detail orientation with the need to be adaptable in an environment where priorities regularly change. Has a track-record of error-free accounting.
  • Proven track record of successful work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
  • Desire to wear many hats, make contributions that span from booking journal entries to managing critical projects, and comfort interacting across all levels and functions of the organization

The representative annual base salary range for the Bay Area is $132,000-146,000. Job level and salary opportunities are evaluated through our interview process—we review each applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. You’re encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn’t precisely match the job description.
