Finance Officer

We are seeking to appoint a Finance Officer (LSL replacement Term 2) full-time/part-time negotiable.

St. Paul’s Primary School is a Catholic school is seeking expressions of interest for a Finance Officer to join our incredible team. Our school is located in the leafy green suburb of Mt Lawley and boasts state of the art learning environments for our students. Our school caters for students from pre Kindergarten to Year 6 with approximately 225 enrolments. We are a vibrant, happy supportive staff who have the students’ best interests at the fore. The school runs a number of dynamic sporting and academic programmes to enhance the daily curriculum and has a lively faith -filled relationship with parish and parish Priest.

This position is primarily responsible for the financial processing, financial administration and financial management of the school.

This role will report to the Principal.

Position Details

Preparation and maintenance of school financial records including:

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all school bank accounts. This includes the general bank account, fee receipting and credit card.
  • Prepare and lodge the monthly Business Activity Statement.

Undertake The Accounts Receivable Function For The School

  • Administer school fee collection and regular follow up with families in regard to outstanding school fee accounts.

Undertake The Accounts Payable Function For The School

  • Manage the procurement and purchase of supplies for the school.
  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner and in accordance with payment terms. Assist with the administration of the payroll function for the school.
  • Process weekly casual relief payroll and reconcile.

Undertake Duties Of The School Office Including

  • Assist with providing informed and friendly customer service to all students and caregivers.
  • Relief assistance at the school office when required.
  • Other duties as directed by the Principal.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, to prioritise work, take initiative and meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in Finance or Administration.
  • Able to efficiently use AOS.
  • Extensive experience in bookkeeping.
  • Competent level of computer skills and knowledge including experience in financial programs, Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Applications.
  • Experience in a school environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
