The Financial Crimes Quality Control (QC) Analyst is responsible for evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of our financial crimes compliance program. This role involves assessing the quality and accuracy of investigations, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and identifying areas for improvement in our financial crime detection and prevention processes.

Main Job Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate financial crime investigations, including anti-money laundering (AML), fraud, and other suspicious activities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement QC procedures and protocols for financial crime detection and investigation processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports on QC findings, including trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify systemic issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial crime investigations.
  • Collaborate with compliance and risk management teams to enhance financial crime detection and investigation processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in QC procedures.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training programs on quality assurance and compliance standards.
  • Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices related to financial crimes and compliance.
  • Ensure QC practices align with evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between the QC team and other departments, including investigations, legal, and audit teams.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on compliance program effectiveness and risk management.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial crimes, compliance, or risk management, with at least 2 years in a quality assurance or audit role.

  • Strong understanding of financial crimes regulations, including AML, fraud detection, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, report generation, and QC methodologies.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Familiarity with financial crime detection software and tools is a plus.
