Lab Assistant Outpatient Lab/Per Diem
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for processing blood and body fluids, obtaining and labeling samples, and performing venipunctures and skin punctures. May register patients and verify medical necessity for Medicare patients.
Minimum Qualifications
- EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Relevant certifications preferred.
- SKILLS: Ability to register patients, obtain specimens, and communicate effectively. Proficient in operating lab equipment and computer systems.
- EXPERIENCE: Relevant experience preferred.
ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials, and potential infectious materials. Requires physical stamina and dexterity.
