About The Role

A tech-focused organization specializing in software, hardware, and design seeks a Logistics Manager to oversee shipping and receiving operations. The role requires strong project management and logistics experience across various commodities and finished goods, with expertise in industry regulations, particularly dangerous goods (DG). The ideal candidate will develop and execute logistics plans while managing dynamic projects from conception to completion. The team values agility, diversity, and collaboration in solving real-world challenges using robotics, machine learning, and computer vision.

Responsibilities

– Oversee and book robot deliveries from contract manufacturers.

– Manage domestic and international bookings and shipments of robots, including related import/export documentation.

– Validate that robots are street-ready.

– Allocate robots for QA, mapping, advertising, deliveries, development, etc., and propose tools/software for ongoing management.

– Collaborate with Business Development to manage the advertising schedule for robots and execute branding initiatives.

– Configure, manage, and enhance tracking tools.

– Ensure that robots allocated for specific purposes are correctly set up (hardware and software) and coordinate with external partners on requirements.

– Analyze and schedule the delivery of robots to existing and new markets based on robot utilization.

– Validate hardware/software specifications for each market and determine which robots meet those specifications.

– Develop and lead logistics operations and project management.

– Travel to support teams across multiple time zones.

– Analyze and choose various multi-modal, domestic, international, and local transportation options.

– Understand and complete necessary documentation, including compliance with incoterms, HTS codes, COO, DG, and export/import requirements.

– Manage and optimize logistics of commodities and finished goods to meet scheduling and cost targets.

– Audit and process freight costs and tariff customs duties.

– Ship and receive goods, including maintaining records, tracking inventory, conducting audits, and reconciling documentation for finance/accounting needs.

Qualifications

– B.A. in a business field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

– 5+ years of relevant experience, including:

– Management of a fleet and supporting tools to scale and future-proof operations.

– Experience managing multiple projects and tracking tools.

– Experience managing cross-functional relationships.

– Proven experience booking logistics and coordinating the movement of goods through qualified and vetted vendors while managing timelines and budgets.

– Strong attention to detail combined with an ability to see the big picture.

– Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers and freight forwarders.

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

– Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguous situations.

– Experience in one or more of the following industries: automotive, medical, aerospace, robotics, or consumer electronics.
