Job Summary

The GBV Officer, Program Support will provide administrative, financial, and logistical support for a specific GBV project, initiative, or site of implementation.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

Program Operations Planning

  • Work closely with GBV team, staff team, partners, as relevant, for operational planning.
  • Contribute to cost analysis and budget planning
  • Prepare and update procurement plans
  • Contribute to financial projections/ pipelines
  • Support identification of service spaces/ centers and oversight construction, as needed

Administrative, Financial, Logistical Support and Capacity Building

  • Work closely with relevant GBV and Programs team for regular operational support to programming
  • Coordinate with the Finance department; Track GBV program spending and update budget projections
  • Ensure that program activities are implemented in line with program budgets, donor regulations, and visibility guidelines
  • Coordinate with Logistics/Procurement staff; Prepare, submit, and follow-up of purchase requests
  • Liaise between program teams and Logistics/Procurement staff to support procurement, distribution, and storage of program supplies
  • Liaise between program teams and Logistics/Warehouse staff, as relevant
  • Liaise with Finance/Payroll staff to support payments of partners, vendors, volunteers, contractors, etc., as needed
  • Coordinate with the relevant GBV and M/E team to track operations and spending in line with program targets and implementation plans.
  • Build capacity of program staff/volunteers/partners, as needed, in relevant operational areas
  • Organize/support/facilitate operational training as needed
  • Contribute to regular program reports, on time and with accurate data

Human Resources

  • Support the recruitment and orientation of program support assistance, as needed, for effective implementation
  • Support Staff coaching and supervision as required to build capacity and strengthen quality of operational support to the GBV program
  • Implement support strategies for staff, foster teambuilding, and introduce principles of self-care
  • Provide supportive and constructive feedback, and conduct regular performance appraisals

Security and Conduct

  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies
  • Consider security implications of operations, reviewing plans with GBV Manager/ Coordinator and appropriate stakeholders
  • Foster a safe and supportive working environment for all GBV staff/volunteers/partners
  • Exemplify core principles of GBV programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, nonviolence, and promotion of gender equality
  • Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the program and organization, notably through adherence to the Code of Conduct and Ethics, including compliance with anti-harassment, safeguarding and PSEA policies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically, a bachelor’s degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Typically, 3+ experience of experience in relevant GBV related experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to core principles of GBV programming, including gender equality and survivor-centered support services.
  • Experience with program cycle management
  • Budget management experience
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in utilization of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Good teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills
