Job Description

As a Landscaping Labourer you will be an integral part working alongside the Ceduna District Council’s Civil Works team, responsible for maintenance projects in and around Ceduna. Your duties will encompass a wide range of tasks, with a particular focus on maintenance & labouring. Working collaboratively with the team, you will ensure that all work meets predetermined standards and is completed cost-effectively.

Role Duties

  • Perform painting of kerb side street name & numbers
  • Assist with general labouring tasks as required, such as digging, painting, lifting, and carrying materials.
  • Adhere to Council’s Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
  • Use of hand & power tools related to task specific duties
  • Utilise basic mathematical skills, plan reading abilities, and quantity estimation techniques to accurately complete tasks.
  • Maintain a high level of self-motivation, effectively prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Actively participate in onsite training provided to gain competency
  • All other duties as directed by your supervisor

Required Competencies

Desirable Skills

  • Drivers Licence – possession of a current valid Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Experience in landscaping or horticulture, providing additional versatility in outdoor maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively, enhancing efficiency in various tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance & labouring duties
  • Proven track record in general labouring, with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Thorough understanding of safe work practices and a commitment to adhering to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule
  • Must pass a National Police Check and WWCC
