We are seeking an organized, creative and experienced New Product Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for researching, designing, and developing new products by analyzing market trends, consumer needs, and technical feasibility, working across the entire product development process from concept to launch, including formulation, prototyping, testing, and ensuring new products meet quality standards and market demands; essentially acting as a technical expert to bring innovative products to market.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in food products / Quality environment or bachelor’s degree in food science, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of food ingredients, processing techniques, and sensory evaluation.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and problem-solving and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with ability to manage a Stage-Gate process and Reviews. Participate in stage-gate reviews to assess progress, identify issues, and make decisions on whether to proceed to the next stage or make necessary adjustments.
  • Business Case Development: Create a detailed business case that includes market analysis, financial projections, and risk assessments to justify product development.
  • Product Design and Development: Oversee the design and development of the product, ensuring it meets quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate the product’s functionality, usability, and performance. Ensure all data is recorded accurately and maintained in central database for auditing for FDA and SQF / BRC compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as marketing, sales, and co-manufacturing to ensure all aspects of the product launch are coordinated and aligned.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of regulatory / food safety requirements of products and ensure they comply with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Launch Planning: Work with Sales and supply chain to ensure a comprehensive plan that includes hitting deadlines.
  • Post-Launch Evaluation: Monitor the product’s performance post-launch, gather customer feedback, and make improvements as needed.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • An ability to navigate complex business environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
