Scrum Master
Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION
The Scrum Master will coach the team to uncover better ways of delivering Mobile App Software for the Smart Home products, creating better solutions, improve business results and better their processes. The Scrum Master conducts scrum ceremonies, ensures there is backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives. The Scrum Master works closely with the Product Owner and Business Analyst to ensure meeting timelines and budgets while delivering a world class consumer experience.
Specific Responsibilities
- Manage project scope and timelines
- Tracking and communicating agreed upon team metrics
- Must be able to manage agile teams and processes while tracking to project timelines and deliverables
- Assists teams to implement a mindset of Agility and help uncover better ways to work effectively with teams and stakeholders who may or may not use similar practices
- Coaches the team on the best ways to refine their backlog and create Stories
- Ensure Development Team understands and maintains commitment to the Definition of Done (DoD)
- Assists the Business Analyst/Product Owner in preparing and refining the backlog for PI and Iteration Planning
- Protects the team from outside influence
- Helping the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items
- Understanding product planning in an empirical environment
- Ensuring the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value
- Coach the Product Owner to ensure the volume and flow of Product Backlog Items (user stories) towards the top of the Product Backlog are Ready for the Sprint Backlog
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
- Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
- Lead the planning product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
- Along with Product Management, research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
- Follow our competitors and the industry
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
