Purchasing Manager – Ingredients/Packaging

Netties Kitchen/JiMMYBAR! is an global food manufacturing company, specializing in protein bars, snacks, and better for you products.
Due to explosive growth at JIMMYBAR we are looking for a Purchasing Manager – Ingredients/Packaging — in house at either plant in Elk Grove Village, IL OR our plant in Des Plaines, IL.
Responsibilities
- In charge of sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing of all ingredients and packaging for food manufacturing
- Negotiates prices for raw materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies
- Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production
- Develops and maintains detailed inventories of ingredients, materials and supplies located in the company, at all sites, and in the all factories
- Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company
- Contribute to the success of the company by planning, organizing, and monitoring the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items manufactured
- Research and negotiate purchasing of equipment to ensure procurement of the most suitable equipment in terms of performance, safety, reliability, and cost
- Improve customer performance efficiencies
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have 5+ years experience in ingredient and packaging purchasing
- Food manufacturing experience is PREFERRED
- Must have experience buying ingredients and negotiating with vendors
- Must have experience with packaging and packaging suppliers
- Must gain an understanding of food manufacturing equipment and assist in purchasing of equipment
