Job Overview
A landscape gardener is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of outdoor spaces, including gardens, parks, and recreational areas. The role blends creativity with horticultural knowledge to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of outdoor environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and design gardens, parks and other outdoor spaces.
- Install and construct gardens, paths, lawns and other outdoor spaces
- Source and select plants, trees, shrubs and other materials
- Prepare lawn areas by spreading top soil and planting grass, and by laying instant turf
- Provide advice on garden care and maintenance to clients
- Constructing gravel and paved areas, walls, fences, pergolas, ponds, barbecues and garden furniture
- Examining trees to assess their condition and determine treatment
- Work with clients to understand their needs and preferences
- Develop and implement plans to meet client requirements
To be successful in either of these positions, you will be able to demonstrate:
