Job Description

The Demand Planner for Food Marketing will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts for our diverse product portfolio, specifically within the context of marketing campaigns, promotions, and new product launches. This involves collaborating closely with marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to understand market trends, promotional activities, and product lifecycles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for food products, considering seasonality, promotional calendars, and marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand planned promotions, advertising campaigns, and new product introductions, incorporating these into demand forecasts.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to identify patterns and predict future demand for specific food products.
  • Work closely with product development teams to understand new product launch plans and incorporate anticipated demand into forecasts.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and identify areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions to minimize forecast errors.
  • Proactively identify and communicate potential supply chain disruptions related to marketing activities and demand fluctuations.
  • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, presenting demand forecasts and insights related to marketing initiatives to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend adjustments based on demand forecasts, considering product shelf life and perishability.
  • Prepare and present reports on forecast accuracy, demand trends, and other relevant metrics related to food product sales and marketing performance.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, emerging trends in demand planning, and specific market dynamics within the food industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a related field, preferably within the food industry.
  • Excellent Excel skills and is knowledgeable in JDA
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with marketing and sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and the specific challenges of perishable goods.
  • Knowledge of food industry regulations and best practices is a plus.
