Who You Will Work With

Reporting to the APLA Controller, this role is a critical finance partner for the NIKE LatAm territories and APLA geography. You will lead and guide the territory controlling teams and have interactions with all LatAm functions, and work close to the Latam Financial Planning team and with the LatAm CFO.

Who We Are Looking For

As the LatAm Controller, for NIKE APLA Controlling, you will drive influential and collaborative relationships with cross-functional business partners to deliver informed business decisions, process excellence, optimized financial control and financial statement accuracy related to the operating results and financial position of the LatAm territories within the APLA Controlling team. In this role you will report directly to the APLA Controller, and lead teams based in Mexico City, Mexico and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

What You Will Work On

  • Detailed oversight over end to end NIKE LatAm’s Financial Statements across all Controlling Value Streams
  • Connect NIKE LatAm’s business strategies and priorities to the financial statement implications, including informing forecasts and business decisions
  • Manage the monthly financial statement close process according to US GAAP
  • Provide proper review & approval structure for internal controls over financial reporting
  • External Audit & Transfer Pricing Analyses support and oversight
  • Identify & Drive process improvement opportunities
  • Support for the NIKE LatAm’s finance team on daily activities
  • Support Geo / Global initiatives (policies updates, internal controls refresh, etc.)
  • Drives compliance of processes, transactions, and balances with accounting and finance policies
  • Drive investment in renovating sub-optimal processes through automation
  • Ability to make decisions using technical accounting knowledge and/or Nike Controlling best practices

You will bring:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, finance or related functions & Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or the equivalent, is required
  • Experience with ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP is required
  • Experience with a Fortune 500/multinational consumer products company is strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills & a proven ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations with the senior leadership team. Fluent in both English and Spanish preferred
