Job Description
Under the supervision of the production coordinator/supervisor, the incumbent of this position is responsible for handling the customer’s steel parts before and after galvanizing.
Responsibility
Hanging
- Organize your workspace according to the parts to be handled.
- Frequently handle parts weighing between 5 lbs and 50 lbs.
- Unpack the material that the customer has brought.
- View the different parts to be hung and choose the best method for hanging them.
- Choose the material for hanging the parts, i.e.: lugs, chains, combs, etc.

Unhooking
- Organize your workspace according to the parts to be handle.
- Unhook the parts, so either remove the chains, or cut the pins that attach the steel parts.
- Frequently handle parts weighing between 5 lbs and 50 lbs.
- Choose the finishing equipment for the parts: grinder, files, different zinc paints.
- Make touch-ups on material that has quality defects.
- Stack the galvanized parts, on pallets, in barrels or on trailers.
- Pack the parts for shipment to the customer.

Requirements
- Have knowledge of the different tools used (grinder, pliers, file, etc.)
- Have good physical shape.
- Be able to work on the ground, or on ladders to finish parts.
- Have the ability to work 8 hours standing.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Have the ability to handle and manipulate parts that range from 5 to 50 lbs.
Conditions
- Work in a production environment where dust may be present.
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday.
- Day, evening and night shifts.
- 40 hours per week.
