The Role
This role is responsible for providing leadership and organising work crews to safely execute structural remediation activities in accordance with Wood and Client processes and procedures.
You will provide general supervision within a live plant environment to a multi discipline work force, delivering safe and efficient structural remediation services (welding, surface preparation and coating, structural strengthening and reinforcement).

Responsibilities
The key objectives for this role are:
- Execute approved work orders utilising relevant client work procedures and permitting requirements
- Act as initial on-site focal point for all safety, work execution and performance
- Leading a team of technicians and personnel involved in the remediation scopes
- Plans and organises work activities in line with operational planning in a timely manner to ensure information, materials, tools and equipment are available to avoid minimal disruption to workforce
- Participate in daily operations meeting with client on maintenance and operation activities, projects & shutdowns, communicating schedule and task execution to the work force
- Leads daily toolbox talks with site labour at the beginning of each day
- Responsible for creating the necessary permits and risk assessments for work activities.
- Monitor Work orders against planning
- Monitor labour expenditure against work order allocation
- Ensure timesheets are accurately recorded to the correct task/job and project the employees are allocated to
- Ensure material, tools and equipment are fit for purpose, checked and certified prior to use.
- Actively promotes excellence in HS&E by coordinating onsite Safety programmes in coordination with Wood and Client Policies

Expected
- Strong industry background with Trade Qualifications
- Previous experience working with Heavy Equipment
- Minimum 8 years supervisory experience in the Mining & Metals or similar industry
- Minimum 5 years relevant craft labour experience
- Previous experience managing work crews and teams with a blend of different cultures and nationalities
- Experience dealing with complex logistical, security and cultural issues
- Ability to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously within the Contract
- Sound influencing skills
- Demonstrated ability to interface with the client to understand requirements
- Ability to provide technical insight and advice on a wide range of project areas
Candidates must have full work rights in PNG to be considered for this role
