ASRT, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of ASRT, Inc., and will be assigned to the Program Development and Services Branch (PDSB), Division of Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP), National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) located at 4770 Buford Highway NE, Atlanta, GA, to provide evaluation services to AEWB.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Evaluation Specialist will provide effective communication of scientific information to support the program evaluation goals and objectives of DHDSP’s State-based NOFOs.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  • Identify the science base that underlies DHDSP strategies by conducting evidence reviews.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to national, state, local and tribal health agencies and to various other organizations. Technical assistance site visit travel may be required.
  • Support qualitative and quantitative data analysis and develop specific recommendations to augment the improvement of DHDSP’s State-based NOFOs.
  • Provide technical assistance to state-based programs to enable them to build evaluation capacity to improve DHDSP’s State-based NOFOs.
  • Support the work of DHDSP staff by serving as a meeting facilitator for CDC planning sessions, partner meetings, CDC leadership meetings and briefings. Meeting facilitation will include preparing meeting summaries that documents attendees and tasks assigned to participants.
  • Identify best and promising practices through partner interviews, data collection, and literature reviews; develop dissemination products such as one-page overviews, 2-3-page reports or 8-10-page guidance documents and the dissemination of findings to various partners and stakeholders.
  • Products and dissemination strategies will be determined by the COR depending on the topic, key audience, and information available. All data collection activities will be conducted within Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) requirements. OMB submissions, if required, will be completed by CDC, and approved prior to any data collection activities.
  • Support components of high visibility projects that support the work of DHDSP’s State-based NOFOs. Deliverables will include developing presentations and/or coordinating speakers for DHDSP meeting. This work will also include developing web content and success stories that highlight the work of DHDSP’s State-based NOFOs.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis and synthesize results for dissemination to an array of partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide evaluation expertise and technical assistance to CDC staff and other partners.
  • Develop guides, manuals or technical reports that facilitate the adoption of effective interventions and strategies.
  • Deliver presentations, project updates and summaries at CDC briefings.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education And Experience

  • Master’s degree with graduate-level education in health or allied sciences, public health.

Required

  • Have at least two years of documented experience working in public health, health sciences research, and/or program evaluation and performance measurement.
  • Desired experience working with the CDC, federal or related public health entities.
  • Desired specific work or training experience related to heart disease and stroke prevention, or management of chronic conditions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of grammar, writing, and editing practices sufficient to write, edit, and provide advice and assistance in the development of scientific and/or technical materials.
  • Knowledge of the style requirements of the assigned subject-matter discipline, and the media and publications used within the field sufficient to develop and present information that is clear and meaningful to the intended audience.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of sources of technical information, research topics, and pertinent scientific terms, concepts, and vocabulary sufficient to review, clarify, organize, write, and edit a variety of technical reports.
  • Knowledge of related technical and scientific information previously released by the organization.

Language Skills

  • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
