As an educational leader, you bring extensive experience in aligning exemplary practice with regulatory standards to ensure children and young people can access a high-quality education. You excel at driving continual improvement by working collaboratively with stakeholders, leveraging technology and applying risk-based strategies to enhance regulatory practice.
With a strong focus on collaboration, you will strengthen educational supports and communication with the home education community to bring an improved educational perspective to support the delivery of a high-quality education. You will have expertise in the development of educational supports, and someone who can leverage connections within the Department to better support and advocate for children who are educated at home.
Your Opportunity
As the Director, you will provide leadership and direction and as part of the leadership team, drive the planning, implementation and evaluation of regulatory practice reforms and initiatives that contribute to achieving the Branch’s strategic objectives
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Providing leadership to ensure effective communication and collaboration with the home education community to support access to a high-quality education for children and young people.
- Developing, implementing and evaluating frameworks, tools, systems and processes to ensure continuous quality improvement in regulatory functions aligned with contemporary approaches to home education, ensuring consistency, fairness and effectiveness in regulatory practice.
- Leading the provision of Registration Services through positive stakeholder relationships, effective management of high risk and complex matters and strategic oversight to the reporting of regulatory outcomes and operations in accordance with legislative requirements, the principles of good administrative decision making and best practice regulation.
- Implementing effective processes for work planning, resource allocation and prioritisation of regulatory effort based on an intelligence and data-driven assessment of risk.
- Driving a culture of effective stakeholder engagement and working with stakeholders to achieve positive relationships reduce regulatory burden and minimise risk.
- Providing direction, technical guidance and leadership to staff, including ensuring that effective processes are in place for team performance assessment and capability development.
- Providing expert and independent analysis and advice to the Minister and Director-General and members of the Executive Leadership Team, including preparation of correspondence, briefings, Cabinet submissions, and policy responses.
- Representing the department at negotiations in a variety of state and national forums and advocating on regulatory issues relating to broader reform objectives
