Job Description

Performs manual and clerical work in the requisitioning, storing, issuing, and coordinating of facilities maintenance parts, materials, supplies, tools, foodstuff, and other items. Responsible for the tool room; maintains inventory control; prepares/enters requisitions into an automated financial system and a computerized maintenance management system. Operates various types of warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, lift-gate trucks, and power tools. Checks condition status for expiration, deterioration, and damage and takes appropriate action. Conducts periodic physical inventories and prepares reports. Work is performed with considerable independence and is reviewed by a supervisor for effectiveness of service as it relates to availability of supplies.

Qualifications

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of one (1) year of experience in storekeeping.

PREFERENCE FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF EXPERIENCE: Using Advantage/other automated financial system (must specify on application); using electronic Facilities Development and Operations (eFDO)/other computerized maintenance management system (must specify on application); working in a large retail environment with oversight of requisitioning/receiving/storing/issuing and inventory control of building supplies/material (must specify on application). Also desirable: Certification/coursework specifically related to purchasing/warehouse operations or inventory control (must specify on application); completion of forklift training.

Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver’s License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Uniforms will be provided.

Will be required to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check in addition to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office background check prior to appointment.
