Government Relations and Strategy Advisor

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Government Relations and Strategy Advisor to join the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). This role is required to co-ordinate strategic and operational planning and performance reporting activities to ensure the RTA is compliant with the whole-of-government reporting requirements, policies, and standards. This role also actions ad-hoc intergovernmental and ministerial requests. This position is a fixed-term temporary, full-time role until December 2025 and is located in the Brisbane CBD with generous flexible working arrangements.

The role of the Government Relations and Strategy Advisor is to coordinate strategic, business planning and performance reporting activities and ensure the RTA is compliant with whole-of-government reporting requirements, policies and standards.

To Be Successful You Will Need

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that is clear, concise and appropriate for the situation while promoting trust, respect and integrity
  • A high level of judgement and integrity in handling urgent and sensitive information and intergovernmental and ministerial requests
  • The ability to facilitate organisational planning and reporting processes and systems to promote an efficient and collaborative corporate reporting environment
  • The ability to drive and coordinate environmental scanning to ensure the Board and Executive Leadership Team are informed of emerging risks, trends, data or parliamentary and stakeholder developments that may impact the Queensland residential rental sector
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic partnerships externally and internally to meet both RTA objectives and whole-of-government reporting requirements.
