MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Logistics and Facilities to oversee the strategic and operational management of our school’s physical infrastructure, logistics, and support services. The successful candidate will ensure our facilities and resources meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and stakeholders, while aligning with the school’s mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities strategy to maintain a safe, sustainable, and efficient campus.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all buildings, grounds, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with local Swiss regulations, health and safety standards, and sustainability practices.
  • Along with the Health and Safety Manager, contribute to the security and emergency preparedness plans to safeguard the school community.
  • Logistics Operations
  • Plan and coordinate all logistical aspects, including transportation, event setup, and supply chain management.
  • Oversee procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of resources and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop contingency plans to handle logistical challenges and unforeseen disruptions.
  • Project Management
  • Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team, including facilities staff, maintenance personnel, and external contractors.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Financial and Strategic Planning
  • Develop and manage budgets for logistics and facilities operations, ensuring resource optimization.
  • Collaborate with the school leadership team to align facilities and logistical strategies with organizational goals.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to facilities and logistics.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies across the school.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as the primary point of contact for facilities-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Coordinate with academic and administrative staff to support educational initiatives and events.
  • Engage with external vendors, contractors, and local authorities to ensure quality and compliance.

Essential

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities and logistics management, preferably in an educational or international context.
  • Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams and complex operations.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and sustainability standards, particularly in Switzerland.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages, including English and French.

Desirable

  • Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Facility Manager, Project Management Professional).
  • Experience in a school environment or a multicultural setting.
