THE ROLE – What You Will Be Doing

As part of this major cabling installation project, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Installation of HV, LV & instrumentation cables across various site locations.
• Underground electrical services, including hand pulling and cable winching.
• Temporary power installation, including setup, maintenance, and decommissioning of site power systems.
• Installation, testing, and commissioning of switchboards, distribution boards, and temporary lighting. Systems.
• Earthing system installation, including CAD welding for safe and reliable grounding.
• Testing of HV, LV, and instrumentation cables to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• QA/QC completions, including thorough documentation and verification of electrical installations.

What You Require

• WA Electrical Licence
• Driver’s license
• CPR/ LVR & First Aid
• Australian working rights
• Experience working in and around an operational gas plant and live services
• Experience with cable HV & LV installations

About Barrow Island

Barrow Island Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It’s also home to Chevron’s Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia’s Gorgon Project for over 10 years.

Barrow Island provides excellent on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as gym facilities (mixed and separate gyms available for men & women with a variety of fitness classes to choose from), sporting facilities including a football field, golf simulator, bike hire, 2 swimming pools, basketball court, tennis court and a cricket pitch!
