Job Description

Summary

The primary goal of this position is to drive the analysis of clinical, preclinical, and manufacturing data, contributing to the development of cutting-edge biosensor technology for

fetal monitoring. The role will initially focus on data analysis, including clinical analysis, signal processing, and feature extraction. Over time, this position will transition into more advanced data analytics and data science responsibilities, including machine learning model development and model deployment, with a focus on leveraging data integration platforms such as Pentaho, Talend, and KNIME.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of clinical, preclinical, and manufacturing data, with a strong focus on time series and signal processing techniques.
  • Signal Processing & Feature Extraction: Design and develop algorithms for signal feature detection (e.g., ECG, Heart Rate, CTG) and the calculation of key clinical metrics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Data Architect, Data Scientist, R&D Scientists, Formulation Scientists, and Product Development teams to define data requirements, clean and prepare data for modelling and evaluation.
  • Model Testing & Validation: Perform rigorous testing and validation of models to ensure reliability and accuracy, generating clinical evidence for product design, regulatory pathways, and new product launches.
  • Data Reporting & Visualization: Present data analysis results in a clear, intuitive, and actionable format for key stakeholders.
  • Business & Technical Translation: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Documentation & Regulatory Compliance: Compile and document product and system requirements, ensuring they align with regulated medical device standards.
  • Team Support & Flexibility: Be open to supporting team and company objectives in areas beyond your direct expertise, including evolving responsibilities in machine learning and modelling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Data Analytics, Data Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar data analysis role, ideally in a clinical, healthcare, or medical device setting.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, including data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy)
  • Solid background in signal processing and time series analysis, including IoT signal processing, will be considered an advantage
  • Hands-on experience with data platforms such as Pentaho, Talend, and KNIME for data integration and processing.
  • Expertise in SQL and experience with Snowflake for data storage and querying.
  • Competent in machine learning principles and techniques, with an ability to clean, prepare, and analyze data for model development.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries such as Matplotlib, Plotly and Seaborn) to present data in a compelling and actionable manner.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis methodologies, data science best practices, and an interest in expanding into machine learning and model development.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a critical-thinking mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights clearly to a variety of stakeholders.
