Job Description
The hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 05:00 – 13:30 (voluntary overtime is available) and the rate of pay is currently £13.70 per hour but this will be increased on 1 April 2025. We also offer 1.25x hourly increase for unsociable hours and overtime, (8pm-6am).
As one of our Quality Assurance Technicians, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and legality of our products. We are looking for someone with experience in a technical environment, within food manufacturing and who is used to working to BRC standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conducting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits alongside production teams
- Raise concessions and non-conformances as required, ensuring efficient resolution and monitoring of their effectiveness.
- Monitoring and maintaining product quality, safety, and legality
- Performing pre-production swab testing and analysing results
- Conducting random line checks to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Investigating and reporting quality-related issues to management
- Completing hygiene and foreign body audits
- Supporting the production team with coaching, mentoring, and quality system processes
- To support the production team on aspects of the AS400 system.
What We’re Looking For
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality control processes.
- Proven experience in a technical environment, preferably within a food manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with BRC standards and experience working to uphold them.
- Strong coaching skills to effectively train and support production staff.
- Exceptional organisation, prioritisation, and time management abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-centric approach plus good IT skills.
- Able to work flexibly within the shift hours of 05:00 – 13:30 Monday to Friday.
- Demonstrated qualities of friendliness, honesty, customer-first mentality, passion, and a commitment to quality.
