What You’ll Do

As Staff Accountant you will report to the Accounting Manager. You will be responsible for the preparation of store level financial statements and supporting documentation. This includes weekly Bank reconciliations and monthly general ledger account reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will also perform general accounting activities as assigned by Senior Accounting Management for Condado Tacos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts including, but not limited to: cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and gift and loyalty cards
  • Review and analysis of financial statements to ensure the appropriate classification and accuracy of general ledger coding and adjust as necessary
  • Preparation of monthly Sales & Use and Commercial Activity Tax filings under supervision of Accounting Manager
  • Daily review and posting of restaurant sales for 25+ locations
  • Assist with period-end and year-end close as needed including identifying and posting accrualsand adjusting entries
  • Preparation of various journal entries with proper support
  • Assist with implementation of new initiatives, policies, and software solutions
  • Communication with outside entities as necessary to answer questions and resolve issues
  • Assist with preparation of year end audit

Positional Requirements

  • 2-4 year degree in accounting with 2 years of direct accounting experience (will take 5-6 years of experience in lieu of education)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Must have experience with general ledger account reconciliation
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Intermediate to Advanced command of Microsoft Office, including Excel (VLOOKUP’s, hlookup, sumif, pivot tables, macros, etc.)
  • Compeat Advantage and NetSuite (Preferred, but not required)
