Coilcraft is a successful, privately-held company in Cary, IL with a worldwide reputation for high-quality passive electronic components. Coilcraft operates in a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, computers, automotive, broadband communications, and consumer electronics. We seek a skilled individual to join our engineering team as a Material Science/Chemistry Technician.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests and experiments related to materials development, analysis, and characterization.
- Prepare, process, and analyze samples of polymers, metals, ceramics, or composites using standard techniques.
- Assist in developing and optimizing material formulations and processes.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure reliable results.
- Record, organize, and interpret experimental data with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges.
- Follow established safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe laboratory environment.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical field. Candidates with equivalent hands-on laboratory experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques, including sample preparation, chemical handling, and analytical methods.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with laboratory software is a plus but not required.
