HFCL – Network Solution Architect – Cisco/Juniper

Key Responsibilities

Network Design and Architecture :

• Design and implement scalable, resilient transport networks with CUAR, DUAR, and CSR configurations.
• Develop High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) for transport network solutions in Indian Telco and enterprise scenarios.

System Testing And Validation

• Conduct system testing and validation of 5G transport networks, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards.
• Assess traffic patterns for routing optimization and ensure adherence to QoS parameters.

Protocol Expertise

• Test and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and MPLS.
• Validate advanced protocols like Segment Routing, EVPN, MPLS-TE, and RSVP-TE.

Performance And Scalability Testing

• Simulate and test network behavior under various traffic and scalability conditions.
• Use tools like IXIA and Spirent for comprehensive performance assessment.

Automation And Programming

• Develop automation scripts using Python or TCL for network configuration and testing.
• Integrate CI/CD practices for continuous network optimization.

Collaboration And Stakeholder Management

• Work with cross-functional teams, including product managers, network architects, and customers, to refine solutions.
• Participate in workshops and stakeholder discussions for solutioning and problem resolution.

Documentation And Compliance

• Create detailed documentation, including test reports, methodologies, and results.
• Ensure all designs comply with MEF, ITU-T, and ETSI standards.

Technical Skills

Advanced Networking Expertise :

• Proficient in IP/MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN, and synchronization protocols like PTP and SyncE.
• Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols, including VLAN, QinQ, HSRP, VRRP, MPLS, and Carrier Ethernet.

Router Platform Experience

• Hands-on expertise with platforms from Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Huawei.
• Deployment experience in Telco and enterprise/campus networks.

Testing Tools And Automation

• Skilled in using network simulation tools such as IXIA, Spirent, and Wireshark.
• Proficient in scripting for automation with Python or TCL.

Traffic Engineering And QoS

• Knowledge of QoS mechanisms, traffic shaping, and prioritization in transport networks.
• Experience in configuring high-availability protocols like BFD, LFA/RLFA, and TiLFA.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

Education :

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

Certifications

• Mandatory : Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Enterprise or Service Provider track.
• Desirable : Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – Service Provider or Enterprise Infrastructure specialization.
