Peraton provides a full suite of hybrid compute operations services to manage and operate the Hybrid Computing Environment (HCE). The HCE is a collection of enterprise computing resources including a data center, colocation sites, private cloud services, and furnished commercial cloud services.
About The Role
Peraton is seeking a Cloud Operations Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will become part of Peraton’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Data Center and Cloud Optimization (DCCO) program, providing information technology services to manage and operate the DHS Hybrid Computing Environment (HCE). The HCE is a collection of enterprise computing resources including a data center, colocation sites, and commercial and private cloud services.
This is a remote position for our first shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM ET).
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with IT staff to support, maintain, and optimize our systems.
- Providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and security-related issues.
- Provide Tier 2 and 3 support for WorkPlace-as-a-Service/HVDI; MDMaaS/mobility; Microsoft O365 Suite: Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and Sharepoint technologies.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive measures to ensure system reliability and availability.
- Create and maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to address IT needs, coordinate upgrades, and support ongoing projects.
- Assist in the development and implementation of automated solutions to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely support for critical incidents and emergencies.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- High School and 5 years of experience.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust Government Security Clearance.
- Must have help desk or service desk experience, or equivalent experience in troubleshooting and supporting IT systems in a professional environment.
- Hands-on experience with software tools such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, Teams, Active Directory, AirWatch/WorkspaceOne, VDI, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and desire to grow technical expertise.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, achieve productivity goals, and manage one’s time.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, peers, and support partners.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to think outside the box.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of help desk/service desk experience a plus.
- Experience in IT support roles such as desktop support, technical support, or systems administration.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or Microsoft certifications (e.g., M365, Azure).

Details
Target Salary Range: $51,000 – $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
