Role Summary
DevelopmentWA is seeking a dedicated Senior Procurement Officer to lead and manage the entire procurement process, from identifying needs to supplier performance monitoring.
You will play a key role in guiding the procurement team and collaborating with internal business areas to ensure compliance with procurement regulations and policies. This is an exciting opportunity to influence procurement strategies, optimise systems, and contribute to a culture of integrity and excellence within DevelopmentWA.
Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Procurement Services:
- Support the adoption of procurement processes and systems, ensuring alignment with the Procurement Framework.
- Establish and maintain supplier panels and preferred supplier registers, regularly reviewing performance and quality.
Management, Administration & Coordination
- Coordinate procurement training and ensure knowledge transfer for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain procurement policies, procedures, and documentation, including contract management processes.
Governance & Reporting
- Assist in internal and external audit reviews, providing analytics on procurement activities.
- Support the Procurement and Contracts Manager in producing periodic reports and tracking procurement trends, risks, and opportunities.
Stakeholder Management
- Manage key supplier relationships, monitoring performance, risk, and quality.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support procurement needs and compliance.
About You
- Qualification in Procurement, Business Management or other related field
- Strong experience in procurement or other related work
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with proven stakeholder management and the ability to solve complex problems
- A solid understanding of statutory, regulatory, and policy frameworks, along with contract law and its application
- Ability to critically evaluate business priorities, navigate uncertainty, and prioritise tasks in complex environments
- A customer-centric approach to procurement, ensuring activities meet business needs and expectations
