The person in this position will execute performance and compliance audits of the agency’s operations and programs in accordance with Generally Accepted Governmental Auditing Standards. Plan and prepare the audit program and procedures for each assigned audit to ensure that sufficient and appropriate evidence will be obtained to support any findings and conclusions. Research and interpret departmental policies and state and federal laws and regulations to ensure agency compliance. Evaluate the significance of audit findings. Justify audit findings using thoroughly prepared working papers. Prepare a timely, clearly written report for each assigned audit. Conduct special projects and consulting activities as directed by the Audit Director. Perform other related duties.
This position is located in the Office of Auditing Services.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and professional experience in accounting, auditing, finance, insurance, or tax preparation and/or analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree with fifteen (15) semester hours in accounting and business-related courses and three (3) years’ experience in auditing, accounting or finance. CIA, CPA, CISA or other similar professional designation is preferred but not required.
