Operations Vice President

We are in search of a strategic and seasoned operations executive to take on the role of Vice President of Operations. In this pivotal position, you will manage a diverse portfolio of over 100 veterinary hospitals spanning the Pacific Northwest, California, and Arizona. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, your primary responsibility will be to provide high-level strategic direction and business support to ensure that our hospitals achieve their operational objectives and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of a substantial portfolio of veterinary hospitals
• Collaborate closely with divisional leaders and regional managers to promote operational excellence
• Cultivate a positive and supportive workplace culture while building high-performing teams
• Recruit and retain skilled veterinarians and support staff to ensure optimal hospital support
• Spend significant time in the field to support hospital leadership and facilitate the integration of new acquisitions
• Ensure that all hospitals meet or exceed performance goals and operational targets

Required Skills

• Proven experience in managing multi-site operations, ideally exceeding 100 locations
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex data for operational and strategic enhancements
• Excellent business acumen, demonstrating financial and strategic expertise
• Exceptional people management skills, with a focus on team development and culture-building
• Comfortable navigating complex and ambiguous situations
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time to provide on-site support

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA is preferred
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing multi-site operations within high-growth environments, preferably in veterinary care, healthcare, dental, or similar sectors
• Experience in cultivating multi-site or multi-state businesses through mergers and acquisitions, organic growth, or new business development
