Summary/Objective

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the proper function and maintenance of company networks and computer systems. He/she will assign and maintain user access per security protocols and company procedure, install and maintain software, respond to employee concerns relating to IT, troubleshoot IT issues, and write policy documents and training materials for employees. He/she will also manage servers, network equipment, and other related IT infrastructure.

Essential Functions

System Maintenance and Support

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, desktops, emails, and websites.
  • Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Respond promptly to technical support requests and resolve issues efficiently.

Network Management

  • Manage and maintain network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network protocols, VPNs, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure uptime and reliability.

Security and Compliance

  • Implement security best practices, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems based on organizational policy and procedures.

Backup and Disaster Recovery

  • Develop and maintain backup strategies to safeguard critical data.
  • Test disaster recovery and business continuity plans periodically.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of system configurations, updates, and changes.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for future reference.
  • Provide periodic reports on system health and performance metrics.

Vendor and Resource Management

  • Coordinate with vendors for procurement, repairs, and warranty services.
  • Manage software licenses and hardware inventory.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects.

Customer Service

  • Provide day-to-day user support and troubleshooting with software, printers, barcode scanners, phones, and other company technology
  • Assist in the development of custom reports and data collection tools to support the manufacturing and finance operations
  • Assist with setting up audio visual tools for various company meetings

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility but must work collaboratively with others in a team environment to be successful.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This role may routinely use and/or be exposed to equipment used in the composites manufacturing process, cutting devices, hand tools, computers, handheld scanners, etc. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for up to 10 hours per day. Must be able to occasionally lift to 50 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during day shift hours. Evening and weekend overtime work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Limited travel up to 10% may be required for various training activities.

Requirements

Requirements:

BS Degree in IT or other relevant discipline

  • 3-5 years of Systems Admin experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Experience working with various databases, networks, and patch management.
  • Knowledge of system security including intrusion detection systems and data backup/recovery.
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, Epicor is preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment; AS9100, iTAR, NADCAP, preferred
