We are looking for high caliber professional to join a newly established Business Unit to achieve the business growth target.

This Manager role is to support the Associate Director, Business Development & Corporate Energy Solutions – Taiwan & SEA Markets on assessing and ensuring the project proposals quality. This role will be responsible for carrying out the financial modelling analysis, validation, analytics and coordination with market BD/CES team and functional team on the projects. Being a key bridge between local teams and the Group, the jobholder is expected to execute the commercial judgement and clearly articulate the impacts of different projects balancing the local and Group perspectives.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake market and regulatory research and commercial analysis and undertake all financial modelling to support business development and corporate energy sales activities in Taiwan and SEA, particularly for renewable energy projects
  • Financial models and analysis: independently develop, review and run complex financial models and analysis and assess reasonableness and viability of assumptions through working closely with market BD/CES team
  • Coordinate and work in a cross-functional setting to communicate and conduct due diligence for greenfield, M&A transactions and potential JV opportunities highlighting key project risks, especially with financial impact and run financial sensitivity analysis for various risk and suggesting mitigations to management where applicable
  • Prepare and communicate investment proposals to clearly articulate key message and complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner to management either verbally or in PowerPoint or Word formats, including standardizing and presenting results of financial analysis
  • Create simple project screening model, supervise and mentor market BD/CES team to conduct simple financial assessment for project screening
  • Undertake capital and investment structure assessment, working closely with Group Finance (accounting and tax etc.) and market BD/CES team
  • Provide analytical support on project or corporate financing and evaluate various financing structures and sources

Requirements

  • A recognized university degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline
  • A minimum of 8 years’ relevant working experience in energy market or in area such as energy/infrastructure sector, direct investment, or management consulting
  • Strong financial modelling skills and analytical capabilities
  • Good understanding of the power / energy industry or infrastructure projects, as well as knowledge of commercial issues, risk analysis, and policy regimes in different geographical markets. Candidates with international power experience will be an advantage
  • High level communication and influencing skills
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative analytical assessment
  • Experience in conducting investment research and analysis
  • Strong business acumen to provide analysis and insights
  • Self-motivated, able to thrive in a cross-functional team environment and work independently
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
