DIRECTOR OF RECREATION

A Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a creative, experienced Director of Therapeutic Recreation to join our dynamic team.

The Recreation Director will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of a therapeutic recreation program that improves the quality of life for all residents.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Create and implement recreational activities and programs.
• Oversee team of activity coordinators
• Ensure all documentation of resident care plans, recreation participation and progress is documented in accordance with NYS guidelines
• Oversee coordination of transportation for residents to and from activities

Qualifications:

• Must possess a bachelor degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Creative Arts Therapist, Music Therapy or similar applicable field
• Experience in long-term/short term recreation programming
• Knowledge of MDS/Care Planning
• Knowledge of CMS/New York State regulations, including survey compliance
• Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
• A strong empathy with and commitment to helping the senior population
• Ability to work efficiently across various departments
