What You ‘ll Be Doing:

  • Achieving safety compliance across multiple product lines and programs.
  • Conducting safety/hazard/risk assessments on products.
  • Conducting research, studies and tests to evaluate product safety and to determine regulatory/certification/compliance issues.
  • Preparing hazard analysis and safety assessment reports.
  • Evaluating product designs and providing design guidance for safety.
  • Developing safety instructions and procedures for handling and operating products.
  • Maintaining proficiency of worldwide safety regulations through research, development of network and ongoing education.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • University Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.

Desired:

  • EU safety regulations, directives and rules.
  • CE marking and certification.
  • Low Voltage Directive (LVD) (2014/35/EU).
  • Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
  • Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 concerning batteries and waste batteries.
  • Processes, standards and guidelines for conducting safety assessments, e.g. MIL-STD-882.
  • Methods for conducting safety assessments, e.g. FMEA.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to take initiative and motivation to drive results.
  • Very good planning and time-management skills.
  • High sense of accountability and great ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
