Job Description
SUMMARY: The Research Manager is responsible for overseeing research projects, analyzing data, and presenting research findings to senior management. This role requires excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage Research Projects: Oversee research projects from start to finish, including designing research methods, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting findings.
- Develop Methodologies: Ensure research methods are consistent, accurate, and reliable.
- Data Analysis: Use statistical methods and software (e.g., SAS) to identify trends and patterns.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on research progress and findings.
- Team Supervision: Supervise research staff, including hiring and training new employees.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments to integrate research results into company strategy and decision-making.
- Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging research methods.
Knowledge And Skills
- Skills: Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R), excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Leadership: Experience supervising research staff and fostering a positive work environment.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational Skills: Time management, prioritization, and self-motivation
Education And Training
- Education: Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., math, agronomy/plant physiology).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in research methodology, data analysis, and project management.
- Able to travel nationally and internationally
Working Conditions
- This is a hands-on position, and the individual must be physically capable of safely operating a variety of tools and equipment to accomplish the duties and responsibilities as outlined above.
- The individual must be able to tolerate extremes in outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.
- This position may require heavy lifting and moving up to and possibly more than 50 pounds repeatedly.
- The individual must have the ability to provide flexible working hours when necessary and may have to work early in the morning, late evenings, nights, or weekends.
- Mobility is required to climb a ladder and walk on uneven surfaces.
