  • 10:00 PM, Rotating weekends**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week**Experience:** 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred**License:** RN License in state of employment or compact**Certifications:**- Basic Life Support (BLS)- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)**Must-Have:**- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred- Successful completion of designated organizational and Emergency Department-specific competency validation**Job Description:**- Practice independently and demonstrate an awareness of all relevant aspects of clinical situations.- Provide both routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans.- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.- Meet expectations of competencies in self-leadership, leadership of others, or leadership of leaders.- Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.- Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.- Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment.- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and resources.- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess the basic physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and development needs of patients and families.- Develop and use a specific plan of care and modify it to meet individual patient needs using evidence-based practice.- Implement patient care and therapeutic procedures; monitor and document progression of treatment and teaching goals.- Evaluate the care and treatment(s) provided to the patient and the patient response to the care and treatment(s).- Plan for admission, discharge, and transfer needs to facilitate patient flow and use appropriate communication tools to facilitate the process.- Plan, direct, and evaluate the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift.- Incorporate patient safety practices/guidelines to promote a safe environment resulting in positive patient outcomes.- Provide evidence-based nursing care and communicate patient information effectively across the continuum of care.- Educate and train others on the operations, ethics, and regulations within the industry.- Share experiences in processing medical orders and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare-related laws and regulations.
