Junior Quantity Surveyor

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at SKG. As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our construction projects. You will be responsible for assisting with cost estimation, budget management, and contract administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and project schedules
• Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities
• Review and analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential cost savings or risks
• Assist in the procurement process by obtaining quotes and negotiating prices with suppliers and subcontractors
• Monitor project costs and provide regular reports to project managers
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cost-related activities
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule
• Assist in the preparation of final accounts and cost reconciliation reports

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Honours will be beneficial
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role\ in the construction industry

SKILLS:

• Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and cost estimating software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
